In Canada, the Ontario government has financially backed the modernisation and expansion of Nova Chemicals Mooretown low-density polyethylene plant. The provincial government is providing a C$10 million (£6.45 million) loan for new equipment to support the chemical company’s C$78 million investment in the site.
The loan is part of the Ontario’s Advanced Manufacturing Investment Strategy aimed at strengthening the province’s economy, and Nova is one of the largest employers in the region.
